Why Do We March? January 22, 1973Over forty years ago, the Supreme Court legalized abortion in Roe v. Wade. It declared that abortion is protected under the privacy right protected by the 14th amendment.
The March for Life is a loud challenge to that ruling. Across the nation hundreds of thousands gather in their states to stand in union and declare that choosing privacy over life is unconstitutional. They demand that everyone gets a chance to live. In Hawaii, we gather each year at the Capitol. There is a rally with booths, music, speakers, personal testimonies, and prayers for those aborted, those in danger of abortion, and the mothers facing abortion. |
