I Love Country CafeWe used I love Country Cafe to cater our Theology on Tap Event at the Newman Center.
The delivery was cheap and serving utensils were included. However, what we liked best was the fact that they were willing to work with us and help us customize our menu to fit our needs. They were very good at helping us estimate how much food we needed too! Best thing you can do, is just give them a call and let them know you are just looking around and they help you get a good cost estimate as you search for the perfect cater for your event. |
Timmy Tom's Gourmet SandwichesWe used Timmy Tom's for an Advisory Council Meeting and were blown away by these guys!
The sandwiches were huge, the ingredients were very fresh, and everyone complimented their pickles. They had a big variety of sandwiches and most with "localized" themes which all sounded great, but the best thing about Timmy Tom's is the FREE delivery! If you're on the windward side, then we highly suggest Timmy Tom's for your next lunch. Give them a call and let them know what you need and they make it quick and easy and on-time. |
Foodland / Sack n Save StoresWe do our best to support local businesses and shopping at Foodland is one the ways we do it.
But its not groceries we go after here, its the pupu platters! Foodland Delis have a solid selection of platters for very reasonable prices. The Spam Musubi, Chow Mein, Deli wrap,, and Assorted Wings are staples in our orders. And don't forget that you can also get ice, drinks, and leis at the same place! We used Foodland for many of our Young Adult Speaker Series events and had very few problems regardless of what Foodland we went to. Give them a call for all your gatherings of 40-50 people. |
KTA Super StoresAgain, we always "try buy local" and KTA is definitely in that category.
The Local Big Island cousin to Foodland, this is the store to order large fruit, vegetable, sushi, and pupu platters. And because this is a super store you can also pick up your drinks, ice, and leis all at the same place! One thing that does make KTA stand out is that some locations do offer fundraising opportunities for non-profit organizations! Your best bet here is to find a store and call them up and ask them what they have to offer. |
Short n Sweet BakeryThis is a small unassuming spot in Hilo, but as many know already, they have great flavored marshmallows, cakes, and pastries.
If you're looking for dessert or maybe some light refreshments for a meeting in the Hilo area, then go see the guys at Short n Sweet Bakery. They also do custom cakes, which are not cheap but certainly don't disappoint. Check out their gallery and you can see their work for yourself. |
